B.R.A.G. working towards getting a museum
The Bolivar B.R.A.G. Historical Society has taken on another new project. We have been given the use of the Ceres School House on Rt. 417 which we plan to make into a museum and a community meeting hall for the B.R.A.G. area. Our group has been meeting on Saturdays to tear down the suspended ceiling that was half falling down, anyway. We got that job done. Then scaffolding was brought in and the old beaver board that was next to the tin ceiling was removed. This Saturday we hope to remove two very old handicap ramps, locate our water supply and haul some of our debris away. We also have to mark our property lines so that we can have a new septic system put in. Bryan Perrin has volunteered to be our "Project Manager" and has done a great job of setting up our work schedule. Every week we have new people contact us who want to put their name on the volunteer list! We have received several checks from others who would like to be involved and who want to show their support of the project by helping us with the funding. It is great to see the people of the communities taking an interest in our plans and being excited about saving the old country school.
